Early on in our engagement, Kyle and I talked about the parts of the wedding, aside from the ceremony, that were most important to us. Kyle was quick to respond, “The entertainment!”. I easily answered, “The photos!” Mark and Kelly Hawkins are the epitome of fun, easy-going, professional, and passionate photographers.
After a second cousin recommended Mark Hawkins Photography, I immediately began to stalk their blog. I reached out to Mark and heard back very quickly. Meeting in person prior to signing a contract was important to me as I wanted to ensure that personalities meshed well. Mark was very willing to meet, and after a cup of coffee in Manitowoc, WI, and forty-five minutes of laughter, Kyle and I left very confident that we had found our photographer.
Soon it was time for our engagement photoshoot. Knowing how much Kyle dislikes having his picture taken, and how we both aren’t used to being the center of attention, we were a tad nervous. Nerves quickly subsided as Mark and Kelly made us feel very comfortable. They worked hard to incorporate our small-town feel, and their quick jokes made for some great candid photos.
Finally, the week of the wedding came, and communication about the timeline started. After providing the gist of the timeline and the locations for group photos, Kelly and Mark assured us that they would help keep things on time. They worked incredibly well as a couple, kept our entire wedding party entertained, and helped the nervous bride and groom stay calm. We are so pleased with our photos, and are eternally thankful that Kelly and Mark did such a wonderful job capturing our perfect day.
